Most phone case stores look the same from the doorway: a grid of marble prints and a banner shouting about a sale. So we tried an exercise. We opened our own store the way a stranger would, with no context, and wrote down what is actually there. This is that walk-through, including the parts a careful shopper would want spelled out.
Two aesthetics, one shelf
The first thing a new visitor meets is the line "Your world. Remixed." followed by "Chrome dreams. Soft auras. Stars out of orbit." That is a fair summary of the catalog. The 29 designs pull from two visual languages that shared the same years and rarely the same room.
Y2K futurism is the louder one. The Consumer Aesthetics Research Institute, the volunteer group that catalogs design eras, places it in the late 1990s and early 2000s: liquid chrome, glossy blobs, wireframe globes, optimism about the internet.
Gen X Soft Club is the quieter one. The same institute dates it from the early 1990s to the mid 2000s and describes it as a calmer, more urban take on club culture: natural and muted colors, especially greens, beiges, tans, greys and black, with a minimalist streak and a hint of the 1970s. Think of the cover of a downtempo CD, or a magazine ad shot in soft daylight.
What Gen X Soft Club looks like on a phone case
This is where the collection is strongest, and where it differs most from the usual Y2K case shop. Several designs are almost entirely restraint:
- Aeon: a single silver-black arc on a pale monochrome field.
- Flux: a loose orbital mark in soft black against pale silver.
- Tendril: delicate black curves across a pale surface.
- Telios: elongated rings and suspended spheres on warm cream.
- Veridis Quo: blurred botanical forms over a soft green field.
Muted palette, lots of open space, one idea per case. If you want a design that reads as taste and not as a costume, start here.
The Y2K side: chrome, wireframes and stars
The louder half of the shelf is just as easy to spot:
- Orbis: three pairs of sculpted chrome crescents on clean white.
- WWW.: a warped global grid, the early web as a wireframe.
- Astra: sweeping orbital forms and a small suspended star.
One honest note, because the store says it too: chrome here is the art style, not a metal coating. Every design is a glossy, full-wrap print.
Auras and heat maps
A third group sits between the two. Lucent melts electric blue, violet, cyan and pink into one smooth gradient. Anima sets a luminous white figure inside an aura of violet, orange and blue. Thermia and Calor borrow the palette of a thermal camera. These are the designs for people who want color without clutter.
How the case is built
Every design uses the same build, so the choice is only about the art:
- Two layers: a rigid polycarbonate shell outside and a shock-absorbing black TPU liner inside.
- Raised edges that sit above the screen and camera. Buttons are covered, ports are open.
- A built-in magnetic ring for MagSafe chargers and accessories. It is MagSafe compatible, not an Apple-certified (MFi) accessory.
- 28 iPhone models, from iPhone 12 to iPhone 18 Pro Max.
- One price: $45.
Not sure which iPhone you have? The phone model guide shows you where to look.
The fine print a first-time visitor should know
- Printed to order. Each case is made after you order it. Production takes 2 to 4 business days, then 4 to 7 business days in transit by Economy shipping.
- Free shipping to the US and Canada.
- Made-Right Promise. If a case arrives misprinted, damaged, wrong or lost, you get a free reprint or a full refund.
- 12-month warranty against print fading, peeling and material defects.
- No change-of-mind returns, because every case is printed for one person. Check your model before you order.
Matching pieces
Many designs also come as a magnetic wallet or a magnetic grip that snaps onto the back of the case, and each is 15% off when added with its case. The same art extends to AirPods and MacBook cases.
Where to start
If your taste runs quiet, begin with Aeon, Flux or Telios. If you want the full chrome-and-stars era, go to Orbis or WWW. Either way, the whole shelf is on one page: browse all 29 designs.
